Numan one Internetradio Crashes (maybe when Loading Spotify Connect Cover)

Numan one Internetradio Crashes (maybe when Loading Spotify Connect Cover)

Hey guys! First im German, sorry for my English!

Im Using a Numan One 2.1 Internetradio. When i try Spotify Connect, the Radio works for about 15-20Seconds. Than it Restarts. It wont Dislplay the Cover of the Song. When im in the Menu and Scrolling around, the Radio works normaly. When i go back to the Spotify Connect Display, it Crashes again about 15 Seconds..

Any Ideas? The Brand is no more very actually..

OK. Just for you (and hopefully for anyone who needs it and reads this), you could configure your radio to use 128 [dot] 140 [dot] 52 [dot] 148 as DNS server.

Note that this is a private server (small VPS at Hetzner), and as soon as I spot any form of abusive behaviour (which I get to define as I want and when I want) I will stop it.

It will forward any DNS request to Cloudflare (1.1.1.1), but requests for i.scdn.co will return an error ("NXDOMAIN").

Nothing will be logged at all (again, to save space, but also for privacy reasons).

Let me know if it works!

Just for the statistics: I have exactly the same problem with my Argon Stream 3m

Yes, I have exactly the same issue with the argon stream3 streaming device.

@Karljma

Changing your DNS for the time being, in setup menu Stream, to the private one from @reinob, see "Top Answer" on page 1, works for me (he is based in DE, I'm from NL)!

I know both Argon and Spotify knows about this and are working on it.

Well, at least Spotify, because they are the ones responsible for this.

Someone from Argon wrote me that something similar happened 1.5y ago, and that it took about 2 weeks to solve it.

I hope there's an update for this soon. I only ever use Spotify on my Numan music system.  So I've been paying for Spotify Premium and haven't been able to use it in the last week.  I can't think of any reason not to cancel until it gets resolved.

@Sharkey_NL

Thanks, I was searching for the DNS stuff but couldn't find where to change it, only the 'view settings' screen. Will I need to input all the connection info manually? I've only ever done the PBC wlan setup 'push WPS button on Router' way. (I'm no network engineer, ha ha)

@yordan

Hi! Is there any news? It's a week since Spotify Connect crashes on some streamers. I'm a Spotify Premium user, it would be nice to get some updates...

Yesterday my Argon worked fine with a url block setup in my router blocking i.scdn.co. But today it startede rebooting again. Wth.

What url do I need to block now or what is going on?

What are Spotify doing and is there a workaround?

Thanks.

I work for me blocking  i.scdn.co until yesterday. Now my Argon stream 3 keeps rebooting. I can't listen to music and it drives me mad. Fix it please.

@Karljma

On  Stream go to

MENU

Network

Manual Settings

Wired/Wireless (depending on what you are using)

DHCP disable

Then you have to input:

(with the remote, which goes horrible slow ....)

IP address

(IP from your Stream, normally found via your Internet Router menu)

Subnetmask 255.255.255.0 (default)

Gateway address (IP address from your Router)

Primary DNS (here you input @reinob DNS server)

Secondary DNS 0.0.0.0

So you need to know how to get some addresses, if not, then find some help or wait another 1-2 weeks until its resolved.

Good luck!

I have the same problem with Spotify Connect using a LEMEGA M5+ music system. It just started last week. I'm using Spotify version release-esdk-3.32a-v3.32.26-gbba0b20d. According to LEMEGA Audio support, Spotify is aware of the problem and I hope they send out an update soon that fixes this issue. One workaround I've discovered is to switch the LEMEGA to another screen like the Systems Settings as soon as I start streaming with Spotify Connect. Then it continues to play uninterrupted although you can no longer see the song information as the songs are being played. If I switch back to the Spotify screen though, then the song stops after about 45 seconds and the machine shuts down and reboots.

Wow! Thanks for that, @reinob ! Works flawlessly!

I recommend using the device's web interface to disable DHCP and then change primary DNS respectively.

How long will your service persist?

@Geomatic,

Thanks! I'll keep the DNS server running for a while. so no worries there 🙂

Thanks a million for the baby-steps-walkthrough, @Sharkey_NL! First test is away, looking good so far... (10 minutes played without halt 🙂 )
And using the web interface was a brilliant suggestion, @Geomatic Thanks for giving me that idea (for other noobs out there: web interface is accessed by writing the Argon Stream IP in a browser. IP can be found by Menu -> System Settings -> Network -> View settings)

And a big shoutout and kudos to @reinob for the fix! Thanks a googleplex for letting us use your DNS! Now it's up to Spotify to fix their end but at least I can listen uninterrupted.

Problem Fixed...?   I'm playing Spotify on my Numan, image is shown and got through a whole song!  Second song OK....

(NB: this is with default network settings.)

Thanks Spotify!

@mobailey,

I disabled my DNS filter (at home, not the public one), and Spotify Connect works OK, and shows the album art, so I can also confirm that the issue has been solved (by Spotify, i.e. server-side).

I'll keep the DNS server up for a while, but I expect everyone will confirm that it's been fixed! 🙂

Great news!

Tried my Stream 3M on DHCP Enable...

YUP !!

Fixed 😎

Definitely sorted out!

Thank you guys!

I have an update regarding Spotify Connect disconnecting the same way on the M5+ music system. I upgraded to a new modem and router and now Spotify Connect works fine using the same Software version and Spotify version as before. So everything is great once again.

DHCP enabled, and working without interrupt. Affirmative, thanks again for the work-around.

Yes! I can confirm it works on all my Devices. Thx all here for troubleshooting and reaching out to Spotify to fix this!
