My Question or Issue

When playing a playlist (shuffle off), a track is normalized album-style if the immediately preceding playlist track is the same predecessor that the track has on its original album. This happens regardless of OS or device.

How to reproduce:

  1. Make a playlist with two album tracks played consecutively in album order (e.g., track 3 → track 4).

  2. Play top-to-bottom (Shuffle off). Track 4 plays with album-style loudness.

  3. Reverse order (4 → 3). Behavior reverts to per-track normalization.

Settings:

  • Normalize volume: On

  • Volume level: Loud or Normal

  • Shuffle: Off

  • Crossfade/Automix: Off

  • Both tracks verified from the same album edition (checked via “Go to album”)

Expected: Playlists should always use per-track normalization regardless of playlist predecessor.

Actual: If the playlist predecessor equals the album predecessor, the following track plays with album-style normalization.

Request: Please confirm if this is intended behavior or a bug.
