Problems with Spotify service on my Sonos

Solved!

Problems with Spotify service on my Sonos

I've had Sonos for over a year plus have been a premium accoutn holder for over a year.

Spotify used to work fine on my Sonos, but has recently shown 'unable to browse music'.

I have removed the account from Sonos and tried to recreate, but when I enter my username and password it says that it the Spotify server does not recognise it.

My primary reason for Soptfiy premium was to play on Sonos - can you please help?

Regards,

Paul

I've been using Sonos and Spotify for months now without any problems. Since yesterday I just get "unable to browse music" when I try to use Spotify on my Sonos system. All other services and my music library are working fine. Spotify on my laptop and my Galaxy S2 still work fine so it's not a subscription issue. If there is a systems problem at either Sonis or Spotify it would be nice if someone informed us of this.

Hey guys 🙂

I have just been informed there is currently a Spotify/Sonos outage which is currently being investigated:

Hopefully it can be fixed soon!

I awaited patiently untill things were resolved but this morning I still face the same problem of not being abled to scroll through my playlist in spotify.Anyone else who faces the problem?

Same problem here. Take a look at the German Sonos Forum. There are several threads.

We're working with Sonos to get this fixed as quickly as possible.

And we'll share any updates as they come in. Thanks!

I'm also experiencing this problem. Frustrating that the Spotify service has been unavailable via Sonos for over 24 hours.

same problem here in Amsterdam.

Just to let you know, we're still looking into things and hope to have everyone playing Spotify on Sonos soon.

Thanks for your patience.

Hi there,

Yesterday everything worked just fine without any problem but when i woke up this morning and tried to play my music it says " cant add tracks to playlist". Are there more people with this same issue?????.

Bryan

Im also having the same issue,
Was working perfectly one day, then couldn't play music so removed the account but can't re-add.
Just get "There was a problem authorizing the account.

Please check your internet connection.
Then go back and try again.

If the problem persists, please contact Spotify for help with your account.

Press 'Back' to try again, or press 'Done' to continue"

Which is strange as this comes up before you enter login details, is the server for sonos down?

I've had sonos for 2 yrs now and spotify but virtually the same time.

No problems until now and so I've only just found this thread. not sure why I din't have any similar problems BUT I DO NOW!

An additional symptom I have which doesn't appear to have been mentioned in the thread at all is that the search facility within spotify now only lets me search my own creaated Music Library and not Spotify.

why did this thread stopn in June 2013?

@funtime - The Spotify team are currently working on an ongoing issue with Sonos, I'm not really sure what the issue is but it appears a small number of users are having problems logging in.

Are you getting the can't authorize account error message?

Spotify are aware there is currently an issue with browsing, haven't got anymore details than that at the minute though.

Sonos are aware and working on a fix.

I'm a Premium member and keep having problems with Sonos. That is all I use and half the time it is not working for the samne reason as others here have identified. I think this service is a disgrace. There is no one to speak to to assist sort the problem out, but you keep taking our money. I want you to sort the problem and to refund me (us)!!

It's the pits. I am having constant problems for weeks. There is no one to speak to and it's realy frustrating. How abotu they refund our subscription!!

@hello104 You can always get in touch direct with Spotify support using the online  contact form

If you explain what problems you are having here in detail, someone may be able to help you also.

Thanks Peter
Had the same problem. Updated Sonos software per your link, problem solved.
The Otter

Here is how I solved this for my set up.

I went to log into this community to reply. It asked for me to authenticate with my preferred method of login. I logged in with Facebook but it was odd as this was historically linked in my iPad but for some odd reason it asked me the username/password combination. Obviously there seems to have been something in my setup that has thrown the login information out.

Anyway, without changing anything else I can now browse music so I would suggest that anyone with a Spotify account having this issue playing via Sonos may need to check that the account is still correct. Maybe try logging out of Spotify and logging back in using the preferred method and see if you can then play via Sonos.

Hope it works for you.
