Repeatedly logged out of Chrome

Repeatedly logged out of Chrome

I just got a Mac today, and downloaded Chrome. I logged into Spotify, but it logs me out every single time I close and open Chrome again. I do not have any extensions downloaded, I don't really have any cookies as I have only had this for an hour. What do I do to fix this? Does anyone else have a problem?

Thanks for reaching out. We'll be glad to help you get the login process working in order again.

 

We haven't seen anything quite similar recently and haven't encountered the issue ourselves. Could you please provide us the following:

  • Is this on all devices or only on the Mac? If you haven't tested this, please do so.
  • Does this affect the web player or all Spotify web pages as well?
  • Does this happen on other browsers like Safari too?

With this information, we’d be happy to investigate.

Same thing happens to me. I'm on a new laptop running Windows 11 Home. It only occurs in the web browser — sometimes after closing Chrome, and other times after restarting the laptop.

To investigate this further, can you please confirm you're not opening Spotify in an incognito window and you haven't blocked third-party cookies? Can you check if this happens with another browser?

While browsing online, I found many discussions about this exact issue.
In some cases, it was resolved after a fix from Spotify.
Of course, I'm not using incognito mode and I don't block cookies.
I confirmed that the cookie is saved in the correct folder and visible in Dev Tools.

I just found a solution that seems to work for now (i changed my password and suddenly the credentials are saved) — I’ll follow up to see if it continues to work.

Well, it didn’t last long.
I came back to my laptop, reopened the site, and once again it asked me to log in.
Strangely, instead of asking for my password, it keeps asking for a code sent to my email.

Looks like I found the issue — don’t log in using the code. Just use your password, and that fixed it for me 🙂
