SPOTIFY Progressive Web App on ChromeOS

Hi folks, 

I am using a HP Chromebook x360 utilizing CroS version 81. 

For the last several updates on ChromeOS the Spotify PWA for some reason will not allow me to open a specific link when sent from a friend to listen to directly rather than having to search the artist name/song title into the search bar?

For one second it seems like it is about to work but then it goes directly back to the Spotify homepage of the PWA.  

I also recently became a Spotify premium user though that should not matter for this edge case. 

Any insights into this manner would be great.
