You use to have a timer that would stop the music after a certain amount of time. This was great for people who don't want to have music on all night, but still want to listen to something as they fall asleep.
Please bring it back. It was so lovely to use. It has 5 min -10-15-20-30-45-60 min timers.
Hey @S3thypoo4U,
Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.
We hope you don't mind us moving your post out of the ideas section to one of our Help boards as it fits better here.
That being said, we'd like you to know the sleep timer is available in the app. To find it, you need to select a playlist and then go to the Now playing view. There, you'll find a three-dot menu at the top right of your screen and once you open it, you'll find the sleep timer. Select it and you'll find the options to set your timer:
Remember this feature is available just in Android and iOS devices.
If you can't find the sleep timer, we suggest you log out and log in twice in a row onto your Spotify account. This could sound a little bit odd, but this way the system will force a resync of your account in general.
If the above doesn't do the trick, would you mind sharing with us the make/model and OS of the affected device along with the Spotify version you're running there?
Keep us in the loop!
I miss my sleep timer too.
Tried your instructions, logged out and in three times, but still no sleep timer:
My version is 8.8.76.667 in Dutch on a Samsung S21 FE (Android).
Please help.
Hey there @gjdewith,
Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.
In this case, could you perform a clean reinstall of the app on your phone to see if that makes the difference?
Additionally, we suggest that you check if the OS of your phone has any pending updates.
If the aforementioned steps don't do the trick, could you ask a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your phone to check if they can see this option?
Let us know how it goes.
Today the button reappeared in the options menu.
Thanks for whoever fixed this!
Hey @gjdewith,
Thanks for getting back to us and letting us know.
Fantastic news! If you need a hand with anything else, the Community is here for you.
Have a great day 🙂
Hello, I am having this same problem. I reinstalled the app and i still cant see a sleep timer for songs, only for podcasts. I have a Samsung Galaxy s22 with android version 14
Hi @ximenaphophena,
Note that the Sleep timer feature is only visible in the three dots menu of the Now Playing view, as shown here. Could you check if you can find it there?
Cheers!
Doesn't work for me. Reinstalled and logged out and in a few times.. No luck.. Samsung s23+
Hey @Eliina,
Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out!
That's odd. I still have the Sleep timer option when I open the context menu of a song. Note that the Sleep timer feature is not available with Spotify Connect.
In case the option is missing and you aren't using Spotify Connect, could you share a screenshot which captures how things look on your end? The following info would also be greatly appreciated:
If possible, it's also worth checking if you have the option on another mobile device (a friend's or a relative's would do).
Cheers!
What idiots thought that it would be a great idea to hide the Sleep Timer? It is the most important feature in Spotify. Because the way Spotify are made, it continues to play "recomended stuff" forever, thus to annoy the listeners as much as possible.
I just figured out that the sleep timer only appears when music is playing on the same device that you have the app open. When I connect to my Google clock, the option dissappears and when I set it back to my phone the option reappears.
This is simply not true. If you use the Android app to control another device there is no sleep timer. That is what is being asked for. It used to be possible but no more.
You might have smart shuffle on by the sounds of it.. does your shuffle logo have sparkles around it? If it does click it once more to turn shuffle off, twice to use normal shuffle 🙂
I have been using premium. On a previous Spotify app there was a sleep timer listed on a drop down menu. I can no longer find this feature on desktop, phone or tablet .
What happened?
I have the same issue...Al always used the sleeptimer because i have tinnitus and the music helpt me to fall a sleep. Now its gone!
I reset my phone, deleted Spotify and reinstalled it.
Logged out and logged in twice.
Nothing helps!
And you pay for that! Does anyone know of another good music app that you can use?
I thought I was going crazy but it appears I'm not the only one. In a previous version, on the same phone, same login, I had access to a sleep timer. Not any more. This is the same issue on both my S10e and my TabS8+. It's been like this for a few months now. Will there be a fix for this by any chance?
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
