Why is there no option to disable smart shuffle in settings? It is so frustrating to have to hit the shuffle button so many times just to get your music in the order that you want. I’m not sure why there isn’t an option to disable it or just a different button for it like how it was to enhance a playlist. This is incredibly annoying and frustrating. The way that I use Spotify is by continuously shuffling my liked songs and this makes it so annoying and nearly impossible to enjoy listening to music.

Good news! Spotify has listened to user feedback and you can now disable Smart Shuffle from the mobile app settings, as mentioned in this now implemented idea. This setting will also be added to the desktop app in a future update.
Steps to disable Smart Shuffle in the mobile app:
Note: This is for Premium users only and right now it's only available in the mobile app, but in a future update, there will be a setting to disable Smart Shuffle in the desktop app as well.
More info can be found in the Shuffle help article here:

Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. Im hoping the smart shuffle feature will be optional in the future.
Gonna bump this post and say the same, this feature is annoying as **bleep**. Just like car mode, except that can be disabled.
Such a pain. It was fine when we had a separate 'enhance' button, but this is torture. Stop trying to fix what ain't broke Spotify
It's really frustrating toggling shuffle on and off now because there's a third option (smart shuffle) that takes a while to toggle off because it adds then removes stuff from the playlist.
Give us an option to disable this at account level please!
Edit: oh, and earlier I asked my Amazon Echo to play an album and it said "playing album X by X mixed with similar songs" (or something along those lines). It was only once and hasn't happened again but please don't have this be a feature on smart speakers as well!

Fix on desktop also please!
Why do companies push new features as the defaults thats insane!
I don't want to be the guinea pig for new company features when I have been a long time paying customer.
This kind of thing made me quit Pandora as a full paid subscriber.
I am about to quit Spotify very soon - this is sooo annoying.
You are treating your customers like test pigs.
It's extremely rude and disruptive to everyone that is a paid customer.
I'm not a pig and I will not pay for a service that treats me like one.
Also, this is a solution...? No it only works on mobile and only for premuim subscribers.
Sigh.
Spotify has gone down the toilet.
It official does not care about customers anymore.
The solution is to not push experiments on customers as defaults that customers cannot turn off.
Are you kidding me this company is this bad... Yes I guess it is.
I'll be cancelling very soon if this behavior keeps up.
Get your act together Spotify!

As for Smart Shuffle, rest assured that implementing the toggle on desktop as well is in the works (although we don't have an ETA yet). We'll post an update as soon as it becomes available.
