Songs I have played are now greyed out

Solved!

Songs I have played are now greyed out

I played one of my favorite comedy albums on Spotify two weeks ago. I went back tonight to play it again and all tracks but one are greyed out. I've tried clearing cache as suggested here. I also found that the same tracks are greyed out on every other device my Spotify account is logged into. If I search for the album on open.spotify.com it shows up and looks playable, but if I try to log in and play it, it is once again greyed out. How do I get it back?

Hey folks,

Thanks of reaching out about this in the Community.

Sometimes content like songs or entire albums might become unavailable in certain countries due to licensing issues or requests by the rights holders. In which cases some songs will appear grayed out and unplayable.

We're always adding new music, so if you can't find something right now, it might reappear in the future.

Cheers!

Correction, when I look at the album on open.spotify.com it shows the same tracks greyed out whether I'm logged in or not. The album is "I Have A Pony" by Steven Wright, if that helps. Only the track "Rachel" is playable.

All comedy tracks seem to be greyed out. At least on my devices. Verified by a friend in another country with the same determination. Only the tracks with music in it work fine. Is there a new policy regarding non music content?

Hey @Shepard82,

Thanks for the reply.

As we're not aware of any such new policies, it'd be best to contact the rights owner of the content directly to get a clear answer to why some of their content is not available on Spotify right now.

Hope this helps,

Cheers!

Hi @Dian,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunatly it's no help. It would be impossible to reach out to all word artists in the world 😅.
The problem is exactly like @mobiguy described and many people around me start to notice this too. Maybe it's only a European thing but strangely I can't find anything online.
Last week everything was fine.

Operating from Belgium btw.
Very weird.

A song i want to Listen to (Tattoo By Noci, Cover of the same song by Loreen) but it is greyed out and I want to be able to play it

"...might become unavailable in certain countries due to licensing issues or requests by the rights holders"...Not across the board. Spotify's reply is a lie. Bogus. Every song greyed out on Spotify (I assume because I no longer pay for "premium") is readily available on iTunes. Not that I in the least bit like either monopoly/control mechanism.

Hello,

Two days ago, a friend notified me that the following EP is not available to be played.  Can you help or provide answer why?

https://open.spotify.com/album/3BwAuhZ8eQuLMLpk89qRkC?highlight=spotify:track:4gt9SktNkG822Oha9yGKt6

Thanks,

Brent

The issue with the Monkey Road EP is in United States.

Albums that I added from my own collection keep getting grayed out. Last time, I had to delete and restart the app and add the songs again and then they played fine. Now they're grayed again. And no, it has zero to do with rights issues that have suddenly bubbled up. Between this and the Chinese songs that play on my account at night when I'm asleep I've just about had it with Spotify.

This answer is not acceptable.  I was able to play the song a few days ago and all of a sudden its not available to be played.
