My Question or Issue

My Acer Chromebook 11 CB-131 does NOT support google play store apps, so I cannot download a spotify app (like an android / tablet version). The native Chromebook Spotify app is just a link that opens the browser to the spotify web player (open.spotify.com) and on loading only shows a "this browser doesn't support Spotify Web Player" with instructions to switch to a different browser (not possible in a Chromebook with no "play store" capabilties) or download spotify (again, not possible without a "play store").

I recognize part of this is on Google updating Cb-131 systems to allow play store capabilities, but why does the Spotify side not allow Chromebook browsers to access the web player (or at least CB-131 chromebooks)?

Hey there!

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with this. Can you try this process using Incognito Mode? It might also be worth trying a different internet connection. On another note, you should be able to download Spotify without entering the Play Store from here.

Keep me posted and have a nice day!
