Spotify connect issues with wiim mini - app goes berzerk, no sound

Operating System Android 13 and Windows 10

When I select a wiim speaker in the app, the app goes berserk and changes the music selection several times in rapid succession. It settles on a new song, but no sound comes from the Wiim mini. Switch back to play on "this phone", and things behave normally. This issue happens on all devices: two different phones and a PC laptop. Screenshot video of the issue:

Hey @metalate,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, we'd recommend checking that the app is up-to-date on all the affected devices. You can check for possible new version updates in the desktop app in the three-dot menu that you can find in the left-top corner of your screen in the desktop app. There, select Help> About Spotify. If there’s a new version available, you’ll see a button that says "restart to install". On mobile, you can check this out in the Play Store.

If you double-check new versions and this behavior persists, we'd recommend performing a soft reset of your speaker. You can do it by following these steps:

  • Turn off your device and turn it on again. Wait for it to be on.
  • Wait until you hear the connected tone that shows the device is connected to the network.
  • Open the WiiM Home App to check if it can find your devices.

Lastly, if you continue to notice no playback from your WiiM mini, try changing the internet red you're using to see if you notice any difference. If possible, you can create a hotspot on your phone and connect all your devices. Give it a try, and let us know how it goes.

Keep us in the loop!
