My Question or Issue
Every song that I play on my tv on the Spotify app skips for a second maybe every 20 seconds. This is also the case when I play the songs using the Spotify app on my iPhone and extend it to the tv. I have no issues with Spotify on my iPhone.
Same problem here.
I just bought "Samsung The Frame 2022 version 55inch"
If I connect my Leak 130 amp via optical cable it will stutter in the Spotify App after about 4 minutes of playing music. If I close the app and restart the same thing happens, stutter after about 4 minutes.
Hi folks!
Could you send over a short video which showcases the app's behavior in action? That way we can get a clear understanding of what's happening on your end.
Thanks!
Here is one example. The stutter is very subtle and difficult to record/hear.
You can hear it at 2 seconds and 13 seconds.
It only happens after I use the app for a while, sometimes after 5 minutes, sometimes after 30 minutes of playing. Once it starts stuttering it happens every 6 seconds on average.
Literally the same experience for me. I got so tired of it I bought an Apple tv. The app build for Samsung is a headache.
Hey @iLoveAllMusic,
Thanks for your reply and for sharing your video.
Could you tell us if the sound is coming directly from your TV, or is it coming from any external peripheral (e.g. speaker) connected to your TV?
Additionally, let us know if this is happening with another HDMI cable.
We'll be standing by.

the youtube app on the same samsung tv connected to the same amp via optical cable does not have this problem, only spotify stutters
Hey @iLoveAllMusic,
We appreciate your reply.
Just to confirm, is there any firmware update available for your TV and Leak device? If so, we suggest that you update and restart both devices before launching Spotify again.
We'll be looking for your next reply.
No already checked that, no new firmware for my TV and Leak amp.
Both also work fine with other apps on the TV like youtube, netflix,…
only spotify stutters
Hi again @iLoveAllMusic,
Thanks for your last reply.
Could you reinstall the app on your TV and restart it before launching Spotify again?
Let us know if the issue still persists after doing this.
We'll stay tuned.
No that did not help at all.
Hey @iLoveAllMusic,
Thanks for your reply.
Sorry to hear that the reinstall didn't help in resolving this experience for you. As mentioned, this stuttering could well be related to the specific audio quality settings of your Spotify app and the optical connection you're using. We can also suggest you to try and use a HDMI cable (instead of an optical one) if possible, to see if this will make a difference and resolve the stuttering issue. Let us know if this helps you too, as it seems to have helped @Mediabryant who suggested the workaround earlier in the thread.
Hope things work out here, we'll be keeping an eye out for your reply.
The Leak 130 amp does not have a hdmi connection.
Hi again @iLoveAllMusic,
Thanks for your reply.
Sorry to hear our suggestion was incompatible, but as you know we're not able to cover and cater for all devices and possible media system setups available out there.
On another note, have you tried to play around with your audio-quality settings, as we suggested? In any case, we're still suggesting you to find a possible alternative method to connect your amplifier to your TV, as we believe the reason for this lies in the limitations of the optical connection used in your particular setup.
For further specifics and suggestions regarding the options of using your Leak 130 amp, it might be better to seek guidance from the device's Manufacturer.
We hope this clears things up. Take care!

Similar issue when playing Spotify from Samsung Qn800A TV (2021)
Hey @ganein,
Thanks for reaching out on the Community!
Could you share with us more details on your setup and what troubleshooting have you done so far, so we do not make you repeat stuff. Have you also checked our advices about changing the audio settings as suggested earlier in this thread.
If nothing helps, then please return with full detailed info about your devices and apps' versions. Also a short video recording of the experience will be very helpful for us to investigate things further.
We'll be keeping an eye out for your reply, thanks!
Hi!
I also have the stuttering issues on July 8th 2022 on my 2021 samsung TV. It happens every 20 or so seconds, some stutters bigger and some smaller. Only in the Spotify app, never on any other streaming app, and I'm using the built in speaker. It's not the internet since every other streaming app (Netflix, Disney+, YouTube) always buffers and streams fine with no stutters.
Any solutions? In the Spotify app there are no settings regarding audio quality.
Attached are my version numbers of Spotify and the Samsung platform, along with a video clearly demonstrating the issue. It's very repeatable.
Thanks in advance.
Hi @J3NS,
Thanks for the detailed info!
We've reported this to our tech folks who'll be looking into it. While we aren't able to provide an exact timeline for a fix at this point, we'd recommend keeping the Spotify app up to date to ensure you're on the latest version.
The Community is always here if something else comes up.
Take care!
Literally having this exact problem in 2022. It's awful and it likely is a problem with the app on the smart TV because I've had no issue with the application on other devices.
I'm also a network engineer I agree. If Spotify is only thing experiencing the intermittency, it's likely not a throughput/router/network issue.
