Streaming Spotify to Wireless Speaker

My wireless speaker works perfectly with my laptop.  However, when I try to listen to Spotify through the speaker via my laptop, Spotify pauses.  Without the speaker Spotify plays as normal.  Spotify on my phone via the speaker works perfectly well, so it is a problem with Spotify on my computer.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi. How do you stream to the speaker exactly? Are you using bluetooth, Airplay or connect? What operating system do you use on your laptop and which version of Spotify?

Apologies for the late reply on this, I am only just getting used to Spotify and the community.

I stream to the speaker wirelessly using Bluetooth,  I have a Boase wireless speaker.

I have Windows XP on my computer.

Spotify is version 0.9.6.81gd359a796 !!!

Everything else works on the speaker, it's just Spotify that does not.

I may have sorted it.

If I open Spotify and make sure it is working and connect my computer with the wireless speaker and make sure that is working, Spotify stops working (everything else requiring audio on the computer continues to work).

I then log out and log back into Spotify, and so far...   twice it has started to work.

Daft really, but who cares if it is working.

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier. Yeah, you need to switch audio output to your bluetooth device before launching spotify. Sadly, it doesn't cope with a change in the audio output device under Windows.
