My Question or Issue

My local files will just not sync. I've been digging through these forums for hours trying to figure out why it's not working and it is just not clicking for me. I feel like I've done everything. I've turned on syncing on both my phone and laptop and have added the files to a downloaded playlist and even changed my wifi connection (yes both devices are on the same wifi network) from public to private and they still just will not sync. On my phone it brings up a menu that basically says "you can sync if you do these things!" and then the menu never goes away and itt doesn't download. I feel like I've done everything and cannot seem to fix it. The songs appear in my liked songs on my phone but are not playable and will not sync when trying. I had uploaded these local files before, a few months ago, but they suddenly vanished from my library and I can't seem to get them back. Would love some help, thank you!

Thanks for reaching out.

 

Could you give the steps here a go and perform a clean reinstall of the app on both devices?  They are more thorough than a regular reinstall and make sure that no corrupted files remain that might be the reason for such behavior. You should also remove all playlists with imported files and start the whole process from scratch using the instructions in this guide. Keep in mind to go to Settings> Local Files on your iPhone and switch on Enable sync from desktop.
