Waze and Car Mode!

My Question or Issue

 Why am I forced to use "Car Mode"?  I do not want it.  I cannot turn it off.  Why is "Waze" being advertised down my throat?  I do not want either product on my app.  Is spotify fixing this, or, are we all expected to just accept it?
