When I open spotify an unknown song starts playing

When I open spotify an unknown song starts playing

- It’s been three separate times already when I’ve opened Spotify, and for a literal split second seen the song I was playing before at the bottom of the screen, but then this random song from this artist called “Saiso Cupid” starts playing. It’s always the SAME song. I have never heard of this artist, searched him up, or anything. I mostly listen to music in Spanish so it definitely has nothing to do with me… I don’t know if this is Spotify’s latest way to promote other artists but it’s annoying. 

- I checked just in case I’m being hacked or someone else has my password but the issue persisted. I’m so confused.

- Also it just starts playing when I open Spotify, it’s not like it’s showing at the bottom like I was listening to it before, it rather just plays when I open the app. What is going onnnnnnn

Is this happening only on a specific platform or app? Try reproducing this issue on other platforms like the mobile app, desktop app, and the web player. If the issue occurs on other platforms also, try to log in with another account and see if that changes anything. This will help us isolate the issue to the platform or the account.

 

Since you mentioned about the account getting hacked, I don't think so because even if someone else had access, it is unlikely that they are playing that song at the exact moment you open the app. Moreover, if you open the app they first need to wait for your device to show up in the connect list and then switch to it to actually play it there. I don't think hacking is the case here. But good thing that you have taken the measures just in case. If not, do reset your password using this link.
