Why do i have ads on my podcasts even with premium?

This has only been a recent issue for me (the last 2 months maybe), but it's been a constant thing with every podcast I listen to.

Each time I go to listen to a podcast, it opens up immediately with a 1-2 minute ad, then periodically sometimes in the middle of sentences another 1-2 minute ad starts playing.

If I pay every month for "no ads" how come I'm getting them now? I've been re-listening to a podcast I love which had no ads whatsoever even before I had premium, and now all of the sudden ads are everywhere in these episodes.

So what's happening? Why do I pay monthly for something that doesn't even give me what I pay for? I'm thinking of switching apps because this is just frustrating.

Hey, I want to clarify here.  Podcasts usually include some advertising. This has been the case since the early days of podcasts, and continues to be true today, including on Spotify. Even as a Premium user, you may receive advertising or sponsored messages when playing a podcast. If you are a Premium user, you will still enjoy an ad-free music listening experience but this doesn't apply to podcasts. We don't offer premium podcast subscriptions.

I now live in Spain but listed to italian podcasts and the ads I get are in spanish, so please stop saying that "the creator might have added the advertising on the track" because what I'm hearing is clearly something added on top. As I pay a premium subscription, I demand not to be bothered by ads because that's the entire point of paying a monthly sub. If this doesn't get fixed, after years I'll delete my account. There a limit to the constant enshittifaction of services that one can take.

It's marked as solved but it's not. Just because it's 'between the lines' in the agreement doesn't mean it's how it should be. Seems like to only thing it would solve it's to move to a competitor.

Same here. So effing over Spotify and their BS. Nothing but effing ads on top of ads. wth are we even paying for? It’s literally the only reason I have a paid account so I don’t get these embedded ads. Some of us listen to podcasts to sleep to or meditate to and it’s pretty damn hard to do this with all these dumb asf ads 😡 cancelling my subscription. Spotify has gone downhill so bad.

I live in Europe and this has been happening to me for a couple of months now even though I have premium. I listen to American podcasts usually and I would get Spotify ads before the episode starts and sometimes in between a sentence in the middle of the podcast, I am not talking about the creator’s ads, but a Spotify ad (even the banner changes). I would get German and Italian ads even though I live in France !! I don’t understand what are we paying for if we are still getting ads ? It’s very annoying and it’s making me consider switching to another platform who doesn’t take their subscribers for idiots.

Same thing here. Just started getting ads in between podcasts. I pay premium for a reason I despise ads when listening to a show or music

It is very frustrating to listen to ad while paying for a subscription.
Many of the ads at the intro of a podcast take up 5 minutes or more. How many would like the option to skip 2 minutes to 5 minutes to help mitigate this; 15 seconds is not enough.
There seems to be the ability for podcasters to embed commercials by geographic area, subscribers need the ability, with the help of technology, to get around these. 
During a podcast, commercials are about 3 minutes, would anyone be interested in a 3 minute (or other time block) skip?

it is definitely NOT A THIRD-PARTY ADS that is connected to the podcast I am listening to. Ithe podcast is in ENGLISH, but the ad is in the LOCAL LANGUAGE.

This is a blatant lie.

The only solution I can provide to this since Spotify is lying to it's users is to cancel subscription and use another method for listening to podcasts. Unacceptable to lie like this, and spotify should be sued for it.

As you can see in this screenshot spotify is serving unskippable ads when listening to spotify as a premium user.

Since the last thread had been incorrectly marked as solved with an answer from staff claiming this was not true I thought I would provide a screenshot showing that it is in fact an ad from Spotify, and not the podcaster themselves.

My Question or Issue

I am getting ads even though my spotify premium is active. This is happening mostly for my podcasts. And these are not ads from the podcats itself - those are happening like they are supposed to.

I am having Spotify ads before and during the podcast. The podcast gets interrupted by these ads mid sentence. It makes no sense because I have checked my subscription and everything is according to normal.

What is going on and how can I make it stop?

My Question or Issue

Every 3 minutes during a podcast, the app is showing 2 back to back ads. I Have premium subscription. I should not has to be hearing so many ads. I am really considering canceling my subscription and moving to another app

Same problem. I pay for premium and they are definitely not ads within the podcast. I have screen shots saying: "Advertisement" which are all delivered in Portuguese. Can @Spotify or @Anyk17 reply?

It just bad that I have to listen to adds in a show 

the pay version is for not to listen adds but pretty much all the post cast shows have adds, so it is not fair under my point, I know it is all about money but it is bad what they do 

using a post cast for advertising some products or services, I don’t want to pay for listing adds

That is not really true. Recently I started to see/head clear advertisements endorsed clearly by Spotify when using CarPlay. I still hold an activepremium family subscription,… probably canceling it soon if that is not addressed.  These advertisment were clearly not part of these podcasts.

I pay for premium, and I am trying to listen to a mexican comedy podcast in Denmark, but I get Danish ads in places CLEARLY not meant by the authors to have ads, because they cut a joke in half. So, it means spotify is still inserting its own ads

I also get Dutch advertisements in English podcasts. This is unacceptable, I pay for premium, I should receive what I pay for!
