Why is my smart shuffle not available?

Why is my smart shuffle not available?

My smart shuffle is not activating, I either see the option to turn on/off the shuffle mode, but not smart shuffle at all. I tried on the computer and on my iphone 12, I have spotify premium

Ditto.  Checked on several of my own playlists from iPhone.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community and welcome!

 

First up, bear in mind that Smart Shuffle is available for mobile devices and the desktop app, but not on the Web Player. So if you checked from the Web Player it's normal not to have the option there. However, it should work on your mobile device and the desktop app. 

 

To begin with, make sure both apps are up-to-date. If they are, it's best to perform a clean reinstall of the app. This will get rid of any cache that might be causing the issue. No worries, you won't lose any content, but you'll have to download your offline music again.

 

If that doesn't help, could you try logging in with a different and check if you can enable Smart Shuffle there? It can be a relative or friend's account. 

 

Lastly, could you provide us with the OS version and Spotify versions you're using?

Support service is correct, but i found that if you have PC or App running in smart shuffle and then switch to that same playlist in web, the smart shuffle feature remains (until you turn it off manually)
