Yamaha RX775 "access error" with spotify connect

Yamaha RX775 "access error" with spotify connect

Hello everyone!

I am having trouble to get Spotify Connect to work on my Yamaha 775.

What I have tried: It works fine on all my other devices in the network (tablet and mobile phones). I have the latest firmware. I tried restarting and resetting all of the devices. I tried a different cable. Internetradio and straming from the NAS works fine from the Yamaha. UPnP is enabled in the router. I tried to additonally manually allow port 4070 and port 80.

I don't know what else to do. Yamaha support is not reading my emails and just sending me prewritten texts on how wonderful Spotify Connect is and that I should conntact them if I have a problem with the Spotify App. I don't have a problem with the Spotify App since it works on all other devices just fine. Maybe I am missing something.

What error message I am getting: Once I switch the Input to Spotify it takes some time and "access error" appears in the display. After the "access error" message appears the device appears in the list of accesible devices in my Adroid-Spotify App ("available in the network"). If I click on the Yahmaha the message "access error" appears in the display of the Reciever again. So there seems to be some sort of communication.

Does anybod experience similar problems? Some advice? The advice I found regarding similar but not same problems did not help (see above).

Cheers

Nimbler

Thank you for the suggestion. I have already tried this solution. Unfortunately it did not work for me.

UPDATE: It works for me now!!!

What I did: I did as explained in the link (http://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-Other-Partner-Devices/Getting-Access-Error-when-playing-Spotify... But instead of doing a reset (10 sec on/off switch), I had to disconnect from the power supply completely for a minute.

I would like to inform anyone who is also having problems using spotify to connect to try the following.
This only applies to you if you are using a firewall / router which could block ports.
I only tested this using a Yamaha RX-V681 receiver.

- Add new firewall rule opening up port

4070

Source IP: <IP of your spotify speaker / receiver OR if you want any internal ip>
Destination: Any external IP

Spotify connect instantly worked on all my devices (wired or wireless), iphone and PC clients.

I hope this can help someone.
