"Secret" Playlist Privacy Issue

"Secret" Playlist Privacy Issue

Ensure User's Privacy
There is an issue I've encountered where I have the feature "Share My Listening Activity on Spotify" enabled, and aside from the song I'm currently or previously listening to, my followers can also see the playlist I am/was listening to despite it being a "Secret" playlist. There is also the problem where if I link a public playlist of mine to somebody the link will take them to the desktop version of Spotify and from there they can view all of my playlists whether they are secret or public playlists. A friend has mentioned to me that they have noticed the same issue, but hadn't noticed until I had made mention of it. Personally, I would appreciate the "Make Secret" option more effective than it currently is.

Hey there @sincerelyjc

Thanks for reaching out to the Community about this.

Just to confirm, have you tried a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your device? We recommend this step as it'll remove the old drivers first and then install the new ones. It'll also get you the latest version of Spotify. These changes tend to solve issues like the one you're experiencing. Give your device a quick restart as well before you open the newly installed app.

Make sure you adjust your playlist privacy settings once more after performing these steps.

It's also a good idea to log in to your Spotify account on another device just to check if you observe the same. If it doesn't occur on a different device, we'd suggest making sure that your original device is up to speed with any software updates available.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted.
