ALLOW GIFT CARD PAYMENT!!

It is utterly confounding that Spotify denies gift card usage.  I purchased FOUR $60 gift cards in order to bank them online and pay for our family plan.  Now, having been denied the ability to use them for payment, I am out $240 and completely disgusted with this anti-customer stance.  Do I really need to find another service?  I am stunned this cannot be resolved in a manner that does not force customers to leave the platform.  HELP!!!?

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

The Family/ Duo subscription can only be paid via automatic recurring payments. Gift cards are not accepted as a valid payment method, as stated in the Terms and Conditions (Under point 5. Other Restrictions).

One alternative is to ask the vendor, from which you've purchased the giftcars for a refund.

There is another workaround to this. 

You can create a Spotify Premium Individual subscription on your account using the giftcards. This way your Individual account will be charged up with 6 moths of Premium Individual per geftcard. After that is done, you can change your plan to Premium Family from your Account Page. You will still need to enter a valid recurring payment method like a card/ paypal.

After this, your prepaid Premium Individual Time will automatically be converted to Premium Family time. Note that the Premium time will be shortened to account for the price difference between the plans. So you'll get roughly 2/3 of the Premium time, but for up to 6 accounts. 

After the prepaid time is up, you'll receive your first bill for 15.99$.
