Address verification without Google

Address verification without Google

Hi,

Long time premium user here. I want to set up family or duo plan, but Spotify is asking for address verification. While I have privacy concerns, this seems reasonable. However it uses Google (maps) services and I don’t want Google to know my address.

How can I still setup Spotify?

thanks!

Hey @neut,

Thanks for reaching out on the Community! We understand that this can be a concern, but rest assure that security is one of our top priorities.

We use Google Maps address search to help the plan manager find their address. Then, we ask the members invited to confirm they live at the same location.

We don’t track your location and we only check your address at the moment you’re asked to confirm that you live at the same address. We also don’t store any coordinates once the verification check is completed.

Addresses entered in the address field are subject to the Google Maps Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Hope this clears things up! We're here if you need anything else.
