Can't add member to family plan

Can't add member to family plan

I've changed to Premium Duo. When I did it, I was asked to update my address. So I did it. Spotify found it and accepted it. No problems.

Then I sent an invitation to my housemate to join my plan. They are asked to introduce the address to verify it. Spotify finds it, but when they click on "join", there's a message saying that we're not in the same country so they cannot join. I'm sitting next to my housemate reading the message. 
Then, I checked, and my account's country/region is different to the country where we are at the moment. So, if the issue is my account's region, how is it that spotify let me set up an address that is not in my account's country, accept my payment but then wouldn't let me add the other member even though I paid, I was allowed to set up a home address and most importantly, I live with the person I try to join in the plan?.

There is a misleading issue here because the condition to use the plan is not that the people should live in the same house. The prompt should be that the accounts must be from the same country/region which is completely different to what is advertised by spotify when offering the Duo plan.
What should I do?

Thanks for coming to the Community to share your feedback.

 

Since you're currently in a country that's different from the one where your payment method has been issued, you would have to update your account's country setting by following the steps under "Got Premium?" here.

 

Once that's done, your country setting will be updated on your next billing date and your housemate should then be able to accept the invite successfully.

 

Alternatively, you can cancel your subscription, wait until the account reverts to the free service and then subscribe again with the correct payment method that was issued in the country you're currently in.

Je n’arrive pas à ajouter un nouveau membre. L’adresse n’est pas valable car le pays ne correspond pas. J’ai un compte Français alors que j’habite en Belgique. J’ai tout essayé pour changer sans résultats.. 

 

Salut Maxime, quand je clic sur ton lien « ici » celui-ci s’ouvre sur la page de mon compte et il est écrit que le service messagerie est momentanément en panne. Sais-tu m’envoyer un autre lien stp? 

De ne plus quand je vais sur mon profil pour changer de pays il n’y a pas possibilité de faire dérouler les pays, seule la France est possible.

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community. Hope you don't mind a reply in English as it's the official language of the forum. 

 

As @Maxim mentioned previously, if the payment method you registered was issued in a country different from where you're living, you'll need to update it. Once you update it to one that was issued in the country you currently are, you'll be able to invite the other users who are living at the same address with you. 

 

If you're having issues changing it, you can also cancel the subscription and re-subscribe with the new payment method. Note that plan members can change plans once every 12 months.
