My Question or Issue

I wanted to order a Spotify Family subscription. When paying with cards in Turkish lira currency, I always received a “payment error”. I can easily pay for other subscriptions in Turkish lira.

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

 

You mentioned you're from Ukraine. In order to subscribe to Premium, your account's country settings and the country your payment method was issued in need to match. This means you'll have to use a Ukrainian payment method for Premium.

 

In case you're no longer residing in Ukraine and you've moved to Turkey, you just need to update your account's country to Turkey from your account page. More info here.

As per your instructions, I have changed the account country to "Türkiye". When paying, I also indicated the country of Turkey and used a Turkish account. When I try to pay, I get the error "The payment failed. Please try again, use a different payment card or a different payment method. Go to our support.".

Could you double-check that your payment method is enabled for foreign, secure online, and recurring purchases? These settings needs to be enabled in order for the payment to be processed. You can check this in your bank’s mobile app. Your bank should also be able to check this from their end, if the options doesn't appear for you.

Hello. I would like to inform you that all necessary permissions are enabled in the bank application settings (Enabled for foreign, secure online, and recurring purchases). I’ll also add that with my card I can pay for other subscriptions (for example, Discord).
My account was registered in Ukraine. What I did:
1. Changed the account location to Turkey.
2. Selected “Country - Turkey” and a Turkish bank card in the payment method.

If possible, try with another device or with another browser to see if that does the trick. In case the issue persists, I'd recommend reaching out to the folks over at Customer Support - they'll look further into it and provide you with more information on the matter.

Hello! I want to say AGAIN that I changed the account COUNTRY in the "Edit Profile > Country or region" section to 'Turkey'. When paying in the "Choose your country" section, I also selected 'Türkiye'. I pay with a TURKISH bank card. I tried paying both in the app and in the browser on my PC.
