Family plan - can children join the family plan that already have premium

Looking at getting the Premium Famiky Plan (Australia) my two children already have Premium - but was told they have to lose everything and go back to Free and then join (this was through online chat person at Spotify) But then in the write up about Famiky Plan it says if you already have Premium you can join the Family Plan. My original question was about when does it trigger to stop my children’s original monthly charge being deducted. So now I’m confused as to whether they can join or not?? Thank you

Thanks for reaching out.

Users can join a Premium Family plan if they already have Premium, at least in most cases. In some cases, that's not possible, so in that case, they'd have to cancel their subscription first and wait for it to end. Once it has ended, they should be able to join without any issues.

The only thing they'd lose when their subscription ends is the music they downloaded onto their devices for offline listening, but it can easily be re-downloaded once back on Premium.
