I upgraded from free to premium family share. I did the upgrade on my Mac. However it has not transferred to my iPhone. The iPhone thinks I am still using free Spotify. As a result I can not download my songs.

It's possible that you are logged into the wrong account on your iPhone and that's why you have no Premium. On your Mac, go to the account page. To double check the correct username and email address of your Premium account. Then, logout on the iPhone and log back in, making sure to use the correct login details. Then everything should work 🙂
