My Question or Issue

As far as I can see, there are 2 components to the family plan:

- family mix, which is like a shared public history or something? I've set up two accounts and joined them, and I see a short, unorganized channel of songs.

- kids, which looks like it has nothing to do with music.

Oh yeah, and you can create multiple accounts for a low shared price. Which is the thing that keeps me coming back to consider it.

But -- unless there's some other feature I'm missing -- I'm just trying to wrap my head around what the family plan is *for*.

My situation is, we have old phones connected to speakers spread around the house. Currently they're all connected to one Spotify account, which works great except for the occasional time two people want to listen at the same time.

So the easiest fix from my perspective would be to simply allow more than one device at a time, but there are lots of other ways -- even something as basic as automatically sharing playlists among family members would make family plan an obvious win for me personally. (In the end, all I really want from a family plan is to have playlists that are shared among all the devices.)

What I don't get is what use case this -does- address. How many families want more than anything to have a big bucket containing everything that any of them has listened to?

Dear trowawayiguess,

I don't understand your question, can you please give some more details?
Indeed, you can't listen with two devices to different songs/playlists on the same account.
If you consider to subscribe to our family plan, you will be able to create different accounts and play music on those accounts separately.

You can connect one account to the boxes in your house to control the music playing on that account and device.
The other accounts/devices will be able to listen to their own music.
