Listening on phone and laptop simultaneously

Thanks for coming to the Community. 

Just to clarify — each Spotify account can only stream on one device at a time. So if you’re signed into the same account on both your phone and your laptop, playback will stop on one device as soon as it starts on the other.

Since you already have a Premium Family plan, the best thing to do is make sure that both devices are logged into separate accounts that are part of your plan. If the other account isn’t part of the plan yet, you can create an invite for it from your account page — just follow the steps here. 

Once that’s set up, you can listen independently on both devices without any interruptions. .)
