Hi,
I recently got an email from Spotify that said they are offering 6 months of Student Premium free for students. This offer is only available for students who attend an accredited higher education institution and who haven't tried Premium before.
I have always had the Free plan and am currently a college student. When I clicked on the offer link included in the email, I was able to verify that I am a college student, however when I went to select the Student Premium plan, it said that only 1 month is free.
Has anyone else been experiencing this issue or know how I can resolve this issue?

We recently experienced an issue that temporarily affected the sign-up link for our Premium Student with Hulu offer. This was a limited-time offer that has since ended, which is why we're unable to apply the exact offer to your account.

Replying since I'm having the same issue as well! Would be great if there is any solution found! I saw it expired on 8/17 so didn't use it yet, tried to get it today and found it back at 1 month instead of 6 months free 😞

My Question or Issue
I saw the 6-month free trial for Spotify Premium Student + Hulu advertised and wanted to redeem it. I contacted support first to make sure I followed the right steps. I was told to verify my student status and then reach out again. After verifying, I activated the Student plan through the site, but it only gave me a 1-month trial. When I went back to support, I was told I was no longer eligible for the 6-month offer because I had already used a promo. This was really confusing, as I followed the previous agent’s instructions even when I redeemed it in exactly 3 minutes ago. Is there any way this can be reviewed or fixed? I’d still love to get the 6-month trial. I would deeply appreciate it. I’m a full-time student and was really looking forward to this offer.

We received some news about this from internal teams mentioning that this behavior should be resolved by now. So we'd recommend following the link for the 6 months offer again as it should be working now.
If you're still seeing just 1-month offer, we'd recommend trying to open the link on an incognito/private window, a different browser and even a different Wi-Fi connection.

I’m afraid it’s still not working for me… I tried all of the above suggestions and also logged out of Spotify everywhere, and I still only get the 1 month offer, except for a few times where I’ve gotten an “error unknown” message, which at least is something different I suppose… 😞
I tried all of the suggestions, and unfortunately, it's still not working for me! I'm not seeing any other options or any change despite trying all of the suggestions individually and then all-together.

First of all, I completely understand your frustration and thank you for sharing your experience.
From the images you sent, it appears the agent instructed you to activate the discount, not necessarily start the subscription immediately.
Regarding the 6-month trial, since there was already a previous 1-month trial on the account, unfortunately, it's not possible to activate another trial period. This is a platform rule.

Hi! I’m having a similar problem as well, but I can’t even see the 6 months any more. I’m eligible for the student discount, I just verified my account the other day, but I’m not finding anything about the 6 months. I had the pop-up ad in the app the first day it was possible to sign up, and I opened the ad hoping to signup at a later date since I saw there was a couple weeks before the deadline. The issue is when I went to go sign up, it had reverted back to 1 month free. Hoping this gets fixed lol
this is an issue many people are having right now. the 6 months was offered and we saw it, tried to redeem it but it is only at one month free, not six months anymore. we were told it was fixed and it has not been! help would be appreciated so students can take advantage of the offer!
Just contacted support with this same issue. I verified my student status on July 31st, and I know that the date the offer was available was until August 17th. Since school starts on the 19th for me, I wanted to wait until the last possible day to maximize the time I had premium during school. However, the offer is just completely gone now, replaced with the 1 month instead of the 6 months we were offered. This is my conversation with support. It's crazy how even looking up "Spotify Premium Student 6 months free trial" on Google will show you nothing--as if the offer was never even given. I didn't want to try Premium but decided I would if I got those 6 months free, because it was a really great deal. Not sure why they'd change it suddenly, especially when the offer date has not even passed yet. I hope this issue gets resolved soon, because it's affecting many people.

However, here’s the only screenshot I had from my conversation with the other Spotify representative, which shows the start of that chat. I clicked to have the transcript emailed to me again, but it was never sent. The portion where I mentioned “reach out again” and “I was told I was no longer eligible for the 6-month offer because I had already used a promo” was specifically from this Spotify representative, Ricardo H.

Issue still isn't fixed for me... I just verified my student status yesterday, and I saw the free 6-month trial. Haven't bought it yet. But when I checked the offer again today, I saw it went down to only 1 month, and I really would like to take advantage of the free 6 months I was initially offered
I had the same problem. I went to sign up for it yesterday, because I saw it was the last possible day. Then it told me only one month. I decided not to keep going through with it because I’m not sure if I want to start paying monthly. Has anyone found a solution?
