Deshitify Spotify

I’ve been a loyal Spotify listener for 10 years, and lately I’ve felt increasingly frustrated with the direction the platform is going.

• The UI/UX has become bloated and harder to use. It feels like the focus has shifted away from the clean, intuitive design and organic music discovery/sharing that originally set Spotify apart. Just today I was trying to scroll down on a song to look at an artists discography while listening to the song, and it kept registering as a skip instead of hide the player. 
• The shuffle experience is terrible. I make big playlists, but when I shuffle, I end up hearing the same handful of songs over and over. This undermines the whole purpose of creating large, diverse playlists. It also feels unfair to smaller artists who get buried.
• Overall, the changes make it feel like Spotify is prioritizing label deals and promoted content over the actual listening experience.

For the first time, I’ve found myself seriously considering switching to Apple Music — and that’s coming from someone who used to be an ardent defender of Spotify.

Please fix the core listening experience before adding more clutter. Many of us just want a music service that makes discovery and playback enjoyable again.

Im a DJ who’s loved Spotify as a cratedigging solution, and it’s really formed by music taste in the early years and I’m proud of that. I’ve seen so many other competitors become better for their users, like having integrations with serato. I feel that this service is invaluable to me but has become a shadow of its former self.
