Now, my ad preferences are basically non-existent, and my musical choices are of a scathingly nonpolitical nature, but I have never really received any ads of political nature, until, since yesterday . . .

Why, Spotify, of all people? Why did you decide to rebuke your policy on politically-charged ads? They are loud, disturbing, and divisive, ruining the soundtracks to bathtimes and grill parties everywhere.

Now, I get it, I get it, it's the "mid-Midterm", and we HAVE to have this kind of stuff shoved up our ears as part of our holy obligation of being politically informed, but why?

At first it looked to be a rare, one-time occurrence, but these two seem to be the only ads I am getting now, over and over again. Even clicking thumbs down on these ads ("I think this content was offensive.") and thumbs up on everything else seems to not even help at all. It's inevitable. And the fact that this started happening mere days after the botched Trump assassination attempt is the icing on top of the cake. And you would think that Spotify's algorithm-that-be would have the gall to include ads from other politicians as well.

It's I don't have the free version of Spotify, so I'm not familiar with how the advertisements work. The word, "botched" ((of a task) carried out badly or carelessly) is definitely not the right word for what happened on July 13th, though. The pushing of only those advertisements and the failed assassination attempt are related. They don't want him to succeed. I wonder if anyone hears political advertisements from Trump instead of just Biden. Do you mean that you don't have the ability to change your advertisement preferences, or that you just haven't, and this is what you got, in spite of it? Either way, it definitely seems like some bias is going on. I'm glad that I don't have to hear that nonsense. Something definitely needs to be done about that.

I love Spotify. I'm on the free version and the ads have generally been ok. That has changed for me in the last hour. I've been served Trump's new "lawyers are working with MS-13 gang members to file bogus lawsuits" that are somehow costing me money and "only Trump can fix it" ad three times in the last hour. Considering his lifelong abuse of suits and countersuits, Trump is probably the least likely person on the planet to actually support any meaningful reform of our legal system. That being said, Spotify needs to work on whatever algorithm they are using for targeted advertising... I spent last Saturday marching in a "No Kings" protest. I am not a good target for these ads. I find them highly offensive and if they keep serving them up to me, I'll find another streaming service.
