I dont have an issue with a price increase but does anyone e else feel 15% is a bit over the top. As a pensioner I may need to consider which is very disappointing as I listen for hours on a daily basis.
I presume it won't make a difference but I felt the need to rant.
Thanks for listening ๐๐
Agree, I startet this service with around 12 Euro a month. Now it is 22 Euro. I never complaint about increases, but this time it is really insolent. One more such increase and I'm away, for ever.
Absolute disgrace.
Here is Australia the Premium Family price is increasing from AUD23.99 to AUD27.99. This is on the back of an increase from AUD20.99 just last year. So that's an increase of over 30% in just 2 years!
I am now downgrading my subscription. Spotify are plain greedy.
On its website, Spotify states that it will never cancel your premium account that is on auto billing without giving you notice. But they did just that, forcing me to resubscribe at almost double what i was originally paying. I used to pay MYR24.50 for a family if 6 users. It is now at MYR46.90. (The new family plan only allows 4 accounts and each additional account is MYR9.50.) That is a 91.4% price increase! Insane!
Just got the notice. Having a very serious discussion with my wife about canceling our plan.
Used to have hundreds of CDs, then thousands of mp3s (all legal), then spotify.
We're at the stage where our phones have enough storage I can replace the 90GB offline spotify storage with... high quality mp3s we don't have to pay a subscription for and have a real functioning shuffle.
Spotify's price increase is more than the pittance it pays the artists we listen to. I suspect they're too far gone in terms of ens..tification to notice anything other than dwindling subs.
You all seem to forget everyone wants to benefit from us.
I see that Spotify is making prices higher, but so other companies. I am constantly struggling as in Finland food prices are sky rocketing. I don't care if Spotify sends one euro increase, when food shops are making everything higher all year long 5-20 cents at every product. In a year you end up paying few $ 50 money bills more. This is how capitalism works, folks! Just welcome.
I said this 10 years ago and I say it again, soon you'll all need anything from 2 to 5 jobs to survive.
Spotify is definitely in phase 2 of "enshitification" and probably in phase 3 (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enshitification). As well as unjustified price increases they are also degrading the product by including advertising in premium podcasts. This won't end well - phase 4 is coming...
