Question About First-Day Song Stream Statistics

Hi everyone,

I was wondering how some fan accounts or update accounts are able to know how many streams a song received on its first day, especially when the song was not charting.

I understand that artists may have access to detailed statistics through artist tools, but I’m curious if there is any public way for regular users to find this information as well, or if those accounts are using third-party tracking tools.

I tried searching for more information but couldn’t find a clear answer, so I thought I’d ask here. Thanks in advance for any explanation

Hi @oo-, thanks for your question.

I hadn't really considered this before, but it's an interesting point. There isn't an official Spotify tool which allows you to do this, unless you are the artist with access to Spotify for Artists and can see the realtime data.

There are some third-party apps out there which seem to give access to this kind of data, but there's no guarantee for its accuracy. I tried app.artist.tools and it accurately reflected the data for one song but not for another.

(Note that neither of the songs were released today/in the last 24 hours, those seem especially hard to find, especially when it's not New Music Friday).

I'd be interested to know what you find - keep us posted here if you do!
