Release Radar distillation algorithm

Hey I love the collection available on Spotify but want nothing to do with its suggestions or baked in algorithms.

Here is a process that I use to always avoid anything Spotify wants to suggest me.  I use spotipy for automating this, but you can also do it manually.

1. with fresh spotify account

2. love all the artists on spotify that you have in your personal collection

3. love / create playlists for any albums from your artists you want to listen to

4. each week review release radar

5. cull all tracks from release radar for artists you do not follow

6. for tracks that feature an artist from your collection along with other artists, add to new temporary playlist

7. for tracks for new albums by an artist in your collection, love the album, add all tracks for album to new weekly playlist

9. listen to the temp playlist, cull tracks you don't like and review new artists on the tracks that you do like.  love new artists/albums to expand loved artists

10. listen to the weekly playlist and enjoy all the new releases for artists you care about that week

11. rinse repeat
