Can we please get an API endpoint that removes a song in the queue by its index or other?
Thanks.
EDIT:
3 and a half years. Wow...
And to think that this was going to be added while i was working on my project.
@spotifyjosh nothing after 3 years... any updates?
@spotify Here's a potential code snippet that keeps an actualPlaylist (the songs in the order you've listened to them) and allows users to remove songs from the playlist
I'm also needing this for one of the features of my app.
I also require this feature for my app. Several years ago, Spotify had a "running playlist" feature, where you could set a specific BPM, and it would create a playlist based on that BPM. Around 4-5 years ago, Spotify removed this feature, and I used it frequently. I've consistently thought about it since then. Now, I've decided to develop a small app that can interact with the Spotify API, and one of the key functionalities I want to implement is the ability to analyze your queue and remove songs that don't meet a specified BPM criteria. Essentially, I aim to recreate my version of the removed "running playlist" feature.
I considered creating a playlist cloning feature with BPM as a criterion, but within the flow of using the Spotify app, I don't want to clutter my library with numerous playlists. Some of my playlists are quite extensive, and attempting to clone them while fitting the BPM criteria for each song could result in hitting quota restrictions. As a temporary workaround, I implemented a skip feature that assesses the currently playing song, analyzes its audio features to check the BPM, and then decides whether to skip or keep it based on the criteria. However, this approach leads to a suboptimal user experience, as the skipping is not smooth at all. I would prefer to have a clean queue option that involves fewer API calls and provides a smoother user experience.
Better yet, an endpoint to remove a particular track id or position id from the queue
Given how many of us are looking for this API and Spotify is not interested in giving this functionality to us programatically, one has to wonder why Spotify's group listening features are so buggy.
They know there's a demand for it.
Three and a half years since this request was opened - how is it still not a thing?
BUMP, would love to see this happen
Same here - please make this a thing, Spotify.
please add it
Since this will likely never be made available 🥲, my hacky workaround has been to:
- estimate the total number of songs potentially queued
- lower the volume to 0 (but save the previous volume)
- use the API to skip all of the tracks
- return the volume back to the previous volume
It's not a great UX, but at least you can clear the queue.
@Spotify: y'all, you have a clear queue button in the app already - its a simple API endpoint to be made public. Please... 😞
It is now 2024 Spotify. My app desperately needs this, otherwise I won't be able to implement a feature that recommends that users get Spotify Premium and hence get you more money. We all know you like money now. PLEASE make this happen.
Yo Spotify, me again. See above. Thanks.
Shouting Into The Void lol
is there any life out there?
Hey it would be really nice to have this
Bumping... though reading this thread it seems unlikely to ever be added 🙃
How can you do that?
Somehow I misread and though this feature existed then wasted the past 6 hours coding an app that relied on this ability. This is wild that it is not available.
This feature is a must! Can't believe it's not yet available, given the functionality already exists in the official apps
