API Integration for Grant Status Notifications?

Hello everyone,

I'm currently working on a project where I plan to send notifications to users on their grant decision status within a Spotify-based application. The core purpose was to provide relevant updates and utilities to notify users about external services.

The problem I am trying to solve is how to best add external data (such as grant status API) into the Spotify world. Is it possible to use some of the methods in the Spotify API to create such notification services or integrate other such features more easily? Or would this need creating an independent service that communicates with Spotify user accounts?
