API discovery and open Spotify Connect devices

I'm having some problems with the `/me/player/devices` API method. It doesn't appear to show any of the devices that are "open" (i.e. not me logged in on a desktop app or phone app). The Web player appears to have the same issue, but if I click the devices button in the phone app it shows me all of the open speakers in the house.

Is there a way via the API to get a list of all speakers, not just those that are specifically assigned to me already? The `/me` in the API call suggests it might be designed to only show currently assigned devices, but how can I use an open speaker?
