API endpoint to enable/disable crossfade

I have an app that I've been working on, an enhanced player of sorts. I want to give the user easier control over when crossfade is turned on or off, such as on a song-by-song basis. What's the chance that this will be added as a future API endpoint?

Edit: To clarify, I'm not asking about an endpoint which enables crossplay on a song-by-song basis, I'm asking if there might be an endpoint which just enables and disables the crossfade setting.
