Creating a Spotify Station with Raspberry Pi: Need Help with Shareable Jam URL with python

Creating a Spotify Station with Raspberry Pi: Need Help with Shareable Jam URL with python

Hello, everyone.

I was thinking of a custom Spotify station on the Raspberry Pi 4 with the latest Raspberry Pi OS Lite. I'd like it set up so that I can control playback through the Spotify API and then easily share with my friends. In particular, I want to create a unique "jam URL" or session link shared from me via Python-generated URLs, QR codes, or even AirDrop.

So far, though, I don't see anything in the Spotify API that would enable a link that can be shared to allow group listening or some sort of jam session. I am aware that on mobile, Spotify does have something called Group Session, but API access does not appear possible.

Any guidance or suggestions from anyone will be highly appreciated on how I can achieve that. Shall this be considered a feature request, or is there a workaround that depends on the available API capabilities?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Matěj Pabyška
