My Question or Issue

Hello I wanted to know if my app would pass design guidelines of Spotify or I should get a new design in mind. I saw crop, rounded cannot be done but in my design I can remove rounded, I’m cropping but doing object cover not sure if there is anyway to fix my design to be compatible with the designs guidelines. I attach the current design and when doing hover .

Thanks in advance

Hi @Isaoba,

Thanks for your response! It’s great to hear you're planning to fix the text overlay issue.

As for moving forward, I checked with the moderators team, and while we can provide general guidance here, it’s best to reach out to the Spotify brand approval team directly to ensure everything’s fully compliant with the design guidelines. They’ll be able to give you the final confirmation you need.

You can find the contact details for the brand approval team at the bottom of the page under "Thank you!"—it’s just beneath the section on Fonts.

Good luck with pushing everything into production, and feel free to ask if you need any further assistance!

Cheers!

Hi @Isaoba,

Thank you for posting in the Community, and welcome!

According to the Design & Branding Guidelines, the artwork should remain in its original form with the corners rounded as outlined in the guidelines. As long as you follow that, you’re all set!

One thing to adjust: please change "[Spotify logo] Spotify" to "Powered by [Spotify logo] Spotify." Right now, your site may give the impression that it's an official Spotify website, which isn't allowed.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out.

Cheers!

Thank you, website is currently being developed that’s why the Spotify logo that will be removed in the future. Also would it be correct cropping? Like it’s currently being shown on the bento I’m always keeping aspect ratio so image isn’t being cropped at all

Hi @Isaoba,

Thanks for your reply!

I can’t clearly tell if the way you're displaying the artwork is correct. However, after reviewing the design guidelines again, I noticed it says, "Don’t overlay images or text on top of the artwork." Based on that, the text should be placed either above or below the artwork, rather than over it.

Let me know if you need any more clarification.

Cheers!

I do understand that as it's stated on the design guidelines, i'll think a try around to fix the texts don't overlay the image.

Thank you, wish to have everything coded and ready to document to push into production with extended quota mode !

As long i follow the current design guidelines im good to go?

Wish you a good day !
