Get Playlist URI with updated Desktop Look

Get Playlist URI with updated Desktop Look

Hey!

So my Spotify updated yesterday, and gave my Desktop version this cool new look. The only problem I experienced was that I can't seem to find how to get the Playlist URI now? You used to just go to share => copy Playlist URI but thats just not there anymore. Thanks in advance for help!

Hey folks, thanks for your posts here!

The new desktop app changed a few things here. You can copy the Spotify URI by

  1. Right-clicking an item
  2. Hover over Share
  3. Hold Alt (on Mac) or Ctrl (on Windows)
  4. Click on: 'Copy Spotify URI'.

Let me know how you get on!

Have a good one,

Why hide it in this way?

You just cost me five minutes of my life googling to find this - why? - to what end?

Most likely a design decision to cater to the less tech-savvy people than us; they want a "real" URL/https, because for them, sharing an URI to their friends (by mistake) won't work, so the designers cleaned it up a bit to avoid that issue (and future complaints about that too!). Hope you'll understand. best
