How to embed video postcast with full length ?

How to embed video postcast with full length ?

Hello everyone,
I'm planning to develop a video podcast on anchor, so it will be immediately available on spotify. I would like to know how to integrate the different episodes into my linked website, so that visitors can watch the full Spotify episodes directly on my website, without having to go to the Spotify website or app first. There should also be a link to subscribe to the video podcast on Spotify, for people who want to follow me that way. I've seen the possibility of using the embedding code provided by Spotify but on some websites I've visited only about 30 seconds of a video is played and then a link appears to see the rest on Spotify. Is this still the case or is there a setting for the full length? Thank you in advance for your help.

Hiiii Jero, hope your days been nice thus far!

Yes, you can embed the full-length episodes of your video podcast on your website using the embedding code provided by Spotify. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Spotify Podcasters dashboard and select your podcast.
  2. Click on the "Share" button next to the episode you want to embed.
  3. Click on the "Embed" tab.
  4. Copy the embed code provided by Spotify.

Once you have the embed code, you can paste it into the HTML code of your website. This will allow visitors to watch the full-length episode directly on your website.

Regarding the issue you mentioned where only about 30 seconds of the video is played and then a link appears to see the rest on Spotify, this is likely due to the "Preview Player" setting in Spotify. By default, this setting is enabled, which means that only a preview of the episode is played in the embedded player. To disable the Preview Player and allow the full episode to play directly on your website, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Spotify Podcasters dashboard and select your podcast.
  2. Click on the "Settings" tab.
  3. Scroll down to the "Embed Player" section.
  4. Disable the "Preview Player" setting.

Once you have disabled the Preview Player setting, the full-length episode should play directly on your website when visitors click on the embedded player.

Finally, to provide a link to your podcast on Spotify for visitors who want to follow you that way, you can add a "Subscribe on Spotify" button or link to your website. You can create this link by going to your podcast's Spotify page and copying the URL. Then, you can add the URL to a button or link on your website that says "Subscribe on Spotify".

Sorry kind of a lot thrown at you but hoping it sheds some light,

Hello Prague the dog,
Thank you for your help!
I can't find the Settings Tab with an Embed Player section you are talking about.

I have claimed my podcast (created in Anchor.fm) on Spotify, linked the accounts (Free account on Spotify) but once in the Dashboard this is what I find:
Podcast settings
Link to RSS feed
Provided by Anchor
Licensor / Hosting Provider
Anchor.fm
but no settings for the player.

Do I need a Spotify premium account?
Best regards.

Good morning Jero,

I apologize for any confusion. It seems that the settings for the embed player may not be available in your current account type.

To answer your question, you do not need a Spotify premium account to access the Embed Player settings. However, it is possible that the settings are only available for certain types of accounts, such as Spotify for Podcasters or Spotify Creator accounts.

If you do not see the settings for the embed player in your account, you may want to reach out to Spotify support to see if they can provide any guidance or assistance.

Alternatively, you can also consider using a third-party podcast hosting platform that offers more customization options for your podcast player. Many podcast hosting platforms allow you to customize the player appearance and behavior, and you can simply embed the player code on your website or blog.

I hope this helps, and please let me know if you have any further questions!
