In App Authorization flow like feature.fm

I am trying to replicate the behaviour of the feature.fm presave feature. When I perform a presave action it takes me to a web page briefly which is the accounts.spotify.com/authorize page and then the spotify app opens up and shows that exact same page for authorization, once I click on agree it takes me back to the browser.
When I try to replicate this feature the authorize flow never opens up the app. It always stays on the browser and shows me the authorize page there. I want the spotify app to open and once I give the permissions it should redirect to that

To build an app that works with the Spotify app, you should use the iOS- or Android SDK.

The feature.fm presave is not really an app. its a web page running on the browser. Once I click on the spotify button, it opens the spotify app and does the auth flow and then returns me back to the browser on that same page. 
Also I dont have any native app installed from feature.fm. So I was wondering how are they redirecting from the browser to the spotify app for authorization and then back to the browser.
