My quota extension request is not getting reviewed properly

My quota extension request is not getting reviewed properly

I have made three attempts to get a quota extension for my application, however, Spotify keeps rejecting my request based on a conclusion that does not apply to the use case of my app.

This time, I have been rejected for the following reason:

  • The Spotify platform can not be used to set up a system for playlist placement where monetization is involved.

Firstly, this reason/rule is not included in the Spotify developer policy or the Spotify terms and conditions and I therefore would not have been able to know this before creating my app.

Secondly, I have made it clear to the Spotify developer team that my app is not (financially) rewarding users to add music to their playlist(s) and it is therefore not a system for playlist placement where monetization is involved.

We are only rewarding users to write feedback that can be useful for music publishers/artists to improve their music. I have highlighted this in my most recent request and also included proof that confirms this.

My app is a platform that connects music publishers with playlist curators. Music publishers can start promotion campaigns and submit their music to playlist curators. Every submission costs 20 credits and credits are partly rewarded to curators. Curators are only being paid to write feedback and NOT to add music to their playlist(s).

My app is doing the exact same thing as playlistpush.com, submithub.com, soundcamps.com and other companies that have all received a quota extension.

I have now been rejected 3 times and I feel like I am not being treated fairly. I also am not receiving feedback, other than a message that clearly does not apply to my use case. I have asked for more detailed feedback so I can make changes to my app, however, I am not getting any responses.

I feel like they do not like my use case, but it is not being covered by the developer policy or terms and conditions and therefore I am being ignored or left with a vague message that does not make sense.

I am not sure what else I can do. Hopefully someone can help me..

Best regards,

Niels
