We have been using those SDKs since they became available.
Our particular app (Amazing Slow Downer) lets the user play music more slowly, since a couple of years ago also songs from Spotify. The "ios-streaming-sdk" is a beautifully designed framework that lets an audio developer do practically everything needed.
In our case it makes it possible to access the raw audio samples and this way process the sound and then playback the processed audio using our regular audio playback engine. With your new SDK this is not possible. It might be that the "ios-streaming-sdk" is more difficult to use for an average developer but that also makes it more powerful.
We have many users that uses Spotify. Many users switch from other streaming services such as "Apple Music", Tidal, Amazon Music etc to Spotify just to be able to slow down streaming music in real time.
We believe our app gives Spotify many many new subscribers, so many that it would actually pay off for Spotify to maintain the "ios-streaming-sdk".
We only use "playlist" functions and after fixing a couple of bugs in the "metadata framework" available on github, everything works 100%. Although there are certainly some bugs in the “ios-streaming-sdk”, they are very few and don’t affect our app.
We also have an Android version of our app that uses your Android streaming SDK and it also works very good.
We believe Spotify will loose thousands of users, so many that the minimal cost Spotify need to spend on maintenance will pay off manifold.
Since our app also supports playback and slowing down of streaming Apple Music, many of our users will probably switch from subscribing to Spotify to subscribing to Apple Music.
You write:
"After September 1st, important functionality in the streaming SDKs will stop working."
Exactly what does that mean? What part of the SDK will continue to work?
Please continue supporting iOS/Android streaming SDKs!

Spotify are you even reading this loud complaint?
How can I upload songs on Spotify
I would like to add my voice in support of the request to find a solution that allows Spotify to work with the Amazing Slow Downer app. It was Spotify's compatibility with the app that prompted me to subscribe to Spotify after trying other music streaming services.
I use the app regularly to transcribe music (mainly solos by Jazz Musicians) and to play along with music that has tricky timings.

Please enable Spotify to be used with Amazing Slow Downer. Musicians and instructors rely on these tools to teach and learn. Spotify is going to lose lots of use to Apple Music or other places that are usable with ASD. I thought your platform actually functioned the best but my family subscription Is likely moving at another service that I can keep using with Amazing Slow Downer.
I have been using Amazing Slow Downer with Spotify for many year with music activities with seniors! It was a wonderful way to adapt the tempo to their capacities. We are so very sorry not to be able to use it any more. I really d’ont understand why!
fDoes Amazon Music still support the slowdowner. I like Spotify, but they are pretty much the same and a slowdowner is critical for my learning new tunes.
I initially subscribed and have maintained my subscription because of the integration with ASD. If this integration isn’t restored, I’ll drop my Spotify subscription at my next renewal. Im so disappointed!
I used my Spotify playlists with “amazing Slower Downer” often. As a musician it was a valuable learning tool for me. I wish Spotify would give access back to ASD
Please Make IT work again, IT was great tool for learning to play instruments, cause you could change The pitch, and tempo of The Song. Main reason i originnally started listening to Spfy
Please reconsider giving ASD access to spotify. My children have so much more interest in practising their instruments with their spotify playlists in the slowdown app ASD... It is really something that is missed.
Sad this app no longer works. I’ve been learning guitar for over a year and I’ve used asd to help my practice to songs and transcribe them more accurately than other tabs online. It was so useful as a learning tool and now I’m considering switching to Apple Music despite my years of rappor w Spotify. I already pay Spotify and it’s not like I can use it without an account! Why can’t I use this third party app when I already have to pay for the service!
I quit Spotify for this reason. Such a lousy decision by the snakes at Spotify. Apple Music supports Amazing Slowdowner. If you can, I recommend switching over.
Please restore your support for ASD. Surely this app was an asset to you business? As a fee paying customer of Spotify I’m asking user of both apps to consider leaving Spotify if they are to be so disinterested I what their customers wants.
As a guitar teacher, I recommend this app to all my students. Many of them have joined Spotify or even SWITCHED to Spotify to reap this benefit. Please continue to support ASD!!!
I am so mad the Spotify no longer works with the Amazing Slower Downer!!!! As a professional singer AND vocal teacher I have used ASD since before it was an app. The way it worked with Spotify was sooooooo helpful and easy and a huge time saver. It was easy to slow down songs for accuracy in learning and it was quick and easy to change the key to find the sweet spot for singers.
PLEASE REINSTATE SPOTIFY & AMAZING SLOWER DOWNER!!!!
Spotify has always been my go to streaming platform. Especially as I was able to practice guitar with the ASD to my beloved Spotify playlists and slow down specific parts of the songs. Changing keys without having to change the guitar was like being in heaven. Since this feature was cut by Spotify I had to sign up to Apple Music 😞 or practice to YouTube videos :-(( to be able to at least change the song's tempo. Spotify, please enable this feature again! Buy ASD or offer your own player with similar features that support practicing 😉
I have also depended on ASD to learn an instrument. Very disappointed that Spotify has disabled this tool.
Can other users of this forum confirm that Apple Music works with ASD? Or possibly Amazon Music? Looking to migrate to a service that allows me to use this app.
I've cancelled my Spotify subscription, and went to Apple Music. On there, I can slow down the song via the ASD app,
but cannot change key.
I use my Premium Spotify account primarily because of connectivity with The Amazing Slowdowner, I use it professionally for teaching music and for transcribing solos and songs for gigs. Its torture having had it taken away, I need a replacement and when I have the time with change over to Apple Music which does have connectivity.
Spotify team,
Please be aware that Amazon Music is doing efforts to promote their music service and releasing all titles for Prime members. As Amazon prime customer I see no reason to stay with Spotify if special distinguishing features like the ASD compatibility are canceled.
I really look forward to Spotify reacting to this massive complain and hope that I can remain a satisfied customer.
