We have been using those SDKs since they became available.
Our particular app (Amazing Slow Downer) lets the user play music more slowly, since a couple of years ago also songs from Spotify. The "ios-streaming-sdk" is a beautifully designed framework that lets an audio developer do practically everything needed.
In our case it makes it possible to access the raw audio samples and this way process the sound and then playback the processed audio using our regular audio playback engine. With your new SDK this is not possible. It might be that the "ios-streaming-sdk" is more difficult to use for an average developer but that also makes it more powerful.
We have many users that uses Spotify. Many users switch from other streaming services such as "Apple Music", Tidal, Amazon Music etc to Spotify just to be able to slow down streaming music in real time.
We believe our app gives Spotify many many new subscribers, so many that it would actually pay off for Spotify to maintain the "ios-streaming-sdk".
We only use "playlist" functions and after fixing a couple of bugs in the "metadata framework" available on github, everything works 100%. Although there are certainly some bugs in the “ios-streaming-sdk”, they are very few and don’t affect our app.
We also have an Android version of our app that uses your Android streaming SDK and it also works very good.
We believe Spotify will loose thousands of users, so many that the minimal cost Spotify need to spend on maintenance will pay off manifold.
Since our app also supports playback and slowing down of streaming Apple Music, many of our users will probably switch from subscribing to Spotify to subscribing to Apple Music.
You write:
"After September 1st, important functionality in the streaming SDKs will stop working."
Exactly what does that mean? What part of the SDK will continue to work?
Please continue supporting iOS/Android streaming SDKs!

I will drop my subscription if Spotify follows thru this. Many musicians use this combo! Please don’t make me go back to Apple.
Dear Spotify,
I regularly use amazing slow downer to change keys of tunes and learn them. I would have to cease my subscription to your services and switch over to another service in order to meet my needs.
id rather not do that because all my playlists are on Spotify.
I am learning the drums and rely on the Amazing Slow Downer app to learn songs which I listen to through Spotify. It makes no sense for Spotify to stop this partnership - so many people learning music and instruments rely on it and it will be a huge detriment to music education. SPOTIFY PLEASE DONT CANCEL THIS LINK BETWEEN SLOWDOWN APPS!!!!
I use Spotify with ASD as well for my musical development and for the 50 students I teach every week. If ASD can't be used with Spotify I'll have find another service.
Yet another musician primarily using Spotify with ASD. Great combo but If broken I'll go with whatever competitor works with the app. The number of serious musicians in the same situation is insane. Don't break it!
I've used Amazing Slow Downer for around 10 years. Many of them have been in conjunction with Spotify. I know so many students and professional musicians who use the app to learn, practice, and do their work.
There will be a large number of people who leave Spotify's platform for competitors when this large step back happens.
If the goal of the company and devs is to not listen to users and alienate an entire professional demographic that relies on this tech to do their work, then by all means go through with it. I'll personally go go apple or tidal. I don't want to because of all of the saved music and playlists I already have on this platform, but I'll be forced to.
Please reconsider this.
Please continue Spotify’s full compatibility with the Amazing Slow Downer app (ASD). I am a full-time performing and teaching musician. I use the ASD in conjunction with Spotify for hours every day with my students and in my own practicing. I changed from Apple Music to Spotify a few years ago for only one simple reason; the ASD worked with Spotify but it did not, at that time, work with Apple Music. On my recommendation, most of my students also subscribe to Spotify so that they can benefit from the ASD. If the ASD ceases to work with Spotify, I will have no choice but to cancel my Spotify subscription and spend my money with a competitor instead. Most of my 50 students will probably also, on my recommendation, cancel their Spotify subscriptions as well.
Try Songster, that's what we use to learn songs....
Hello, the availability of using Spotify files on amazing slow downer is a major factor in a potential subscription to Spotify for me. Needless to say, if you drop that feature, I won’t be signing up.
I’ve used the amazing slow downer for more than a decade. It has made me a better musician. Generally speaking I have been using it with music files that I own. The opportunity to expand to the Spotify library is enormous. Please reconsider your policy change.
As a learning musician playing in a cover band, ASD & Spotify is an essential solution for me to learn to play songs. Without the ability to slow songs down and to analyze and practice, Spotify is significantly less valuable to me. Definitely reconsidering if the subscription is worth it if you remove this feature.
Also, the goddam captcha expired 5 times while writing this... What is Spotify so afraid of... *facepalm*

Please keep Spotify compatible with Amazing Slowdowner! I am a musician and a teacher and I have been using Spotify with Slowdowner for years. It has been an amazing resource for learning new music. I’ve often suggested the pairing for my students to learn new music as well. Please reconsider this decision!
I'd like to second this. The ability to do slowed-down playbacks in the Amazing Slow Downer is essential to me. Asking you folks from Spotify to reconsider the decision. You should be aware that "unusual" integrations like this are your USP. For me personally this feature keeps me from switching to other platforms like Tidal.

I use Spotify music through the Amazing Slow Downer App as does everyone on this forum. I enjoy using this app with Spotify and it’s one of the only reasons why I continue to use Spotify. Please don’t take away this functionality from ASD.
It would be a big loss for Spotify and many others who uses ASD.

"After September 1st, important functionality in the streaming SDKs will stop working."
Exactly what does that mean? What part of the SDK will continue to work?
I'm a musician who relies on Spotify to work with Amazing Slow Downer. If that functionality goes away, I'll be forced to subscribe to Apple Music. I know that Spotify is more sully supported than Apple, so it'll be a downgrade for me. Spotify, please continue to support the streaming SDK that Amazing Slow Downer makes use of. It's the best option out there. Thank you so much!
I'm a bass player and the primary reason I use Spotify is that the Amazing Slow Downer app from Roni Music allows me to play my personal Spotify "Basslines" playlist. I tolerate the fact that artists are paid less per play on Spotify than on most competing platforms because the value of being able to slow down, remove bass, and remove vocals as a learning and practice tool is so valuable. Without that feature I don't see why staying on Spotify is the right thing to do.
I rely heavily on the connection of Spotify to Amazing Slowdowner as do many of my musician friends, teachers, and professionals. As a paying subscriber I believe it is my right to use my subscription in this way. I will be forced to look for alternative music sources if you implement this change. Don’t!
Please don't change this functionality with the ASD app. It's an essential part of my work as a musician and it will necessitate me finding a new platform that allows me to slow down music.
Please reconsider your plans. Many thanks.
I have been using amazing slow downer app for years as it helps me to practice my guitar playing and learning. It has been an invaluable tool in my musical journey and preventing this app from using Spotify streaming is going to effect many many people. I learned to play using Amazing Slow Downer App and I use it for my worship team practice as often times we do songs in different key than the original. Please reconsider this decision, or at least allow certain reputable apps from leveraging your service. Please, please, please!!!
