We have been using those SDKs since they became available.
Our particular app (Amazing Slow Downer) lets the user play music more slowly, since a couple of years ago also songs from Spotify. The "ios-streaming-sdk" is a beautifully designed framework that lets an audio developer do practically everything needed.
In our case it makes it possible to access the raw audio samples and this way process the sound and then playback the processed audio using our regular audio playback engine. With your new SDK this is not possible. It might be that the "ios-streaming-sdk" is more difficult to use for an average developer but that also makes it more powerful.
We have many users that uses Spotify. Many users switch from other streaming services such as "Apple Music", Tidal, Amazon Music etc to Spotify just to be able to slow down streaming music in real time.
We believe our app gives Spotify many many new subscribers, so many that it would actually pay off for Spotify to maintain the "ios-streaming-sdk".
We only use "playlist" functions and after fixing a couple of bugs in the "metadata framework" available on github, everything works 100%. Although there are certainly some bugs in the “ios-streaming-sdk”, they are very few and don’t affect our app.
We also have an Android version of our app that uses your Android streaming SDK and it also works very good.
We believe Spotify will loose thousands of users, so many that the minimal cost Spotify need to spend on maintenance will pay off manifold.
Since our app also supports playback and slowing down of streaming Apple Music, many of our users will probably switch from subscribing to Spotify to subscribing to Apple Music.
You write:
"After September 1st, important functionality in the streaming SDKs will stop working."
Exactly what does that mean? What part of the SDK will continue to work?
Please continue supporting iOS/Android streaming SDKs!

I can’t believe, you have removed access to my Amazing Slow Downer for iOS app! I’ve gone to use it multiple time since September 1st - I’m very disappointed in SPOTIFY! JRRigas
I am also a user of the Amazing Slowdowner app. The main reason I signed up for Spotify was the ability to be able to use the Amazing Slowdowner app. I will be dropping my subscription to Spotify soon if the capability is not restored. Please restore this capability.
Thank you, Don
This change is really frustrating. The only reason I subscribed to Spotify was to use amazing slower downer app to learn song on the sax. I will be unsubscribing if not resolved. Dara
As a music student the amazing slow downer is a VERY important tool. Please reconsider this update and continue supporting the SDK. Do it for the future of music and musicians, or you will see many of us being forced to switch the service.
The Amazing Slow Downer is one of the main reasons I pay for Spotify Premium. The app is an invaluable tool for me, as a musician. With Spotify dropping support for 3rd party apps, I will consider dropping my subscription. Please reconsider this decision.
If I can't use a slow down and pitch shift app , I will have to unsubscribe.
I'm an artist on Spotify. Me and many many professional singers and musicians use Amazing Slowdowner to develop our skills and it's a very important tool in rehearsing and achieving results. Spotify for Artists posts articles and videos for example how to develop singers voice. So why are you doing this to us?? Take away a very impostant tool in developing the skills?? We are paying customers. Every month we pay spotify premium to keep our Spotify for Artists account/app.
Now it feels you don't want us to be able to work fully by your decision about Amazing Slowdowner. I don't know what to think.
Please, reconcider your decision.
I am an avid user of the ADS app on iOS , both for casual and professional use . Please, Spotify, reconsider your decision as many musicians like myself and others on this forum rely on apps like these to fine tune our craft .
I am a long time user of spotify. However as a musician I must be able to use Amazing Slow Downer. Sadly I will have to switch streaming services if this change is permanent.
That's it Spotify, unless you reinstate this feature, I'm gone. Had an account with you since the early days. Was willing to turn a blind eye to your pitiful royalty payments in order to use this incredibly useful feature as a musician. Now you have removed it you remain nothing but a parasitic drain on the industry. Shame on you, you greedy bastards
I am so disappointed...I have been a Spotify customer for years and I use the Amazing Slow Downer to change keys easily for songs I sing in my band. It was so upsetting when I no longer could transfer songs over from Spotify.
I hope you reconsider this decision.
Please please please take heed!
As a music teacher I use amazing slow downer a lot. This is shocking for my lessons .if Spotify keeps on doing this I will have to look for another music library.
This app has been incredibly valuable for me to learn playing guitar. Please bring this functionality back!
Please make it work again , why changing good things into bad?
I love working with spotify in Asd.
So helpdful to learn new songs.
I have been using Amazing slow downer for many years now and together with Spotify it is a remarkable good tool for us musicians. Listen to music in slower tempo, change keys and so on. It would be a catastrophe if this not will work in the future. I know many people who use this as a tool in schools and education as well. Please return compatibility.
Hi! I am a user of this app and depend heavily on ASD together with Spotify for practice and transcription of songs. Please reinstate third party support!
Kind regards,
David
I am a professional musician and Spotify subscriber. The third-party app Amazing Slow Downer is an essential tool for me to learn new songs for upcoming shows and gigs, as well as for my own artistic development and education.
Please allow subscribers to once again stream songs through Amazing Slow Downer.
I am a user of amazing slow down app and it is the only reason I have Spotify. I am looking for alternative apps to Spotify now. I cannot believe this decisions was made. I ask that you reconsider and reverse this. It is a huge hit to a large community of musicians.
I just started my free trial for Apple Music...
I will have to cancel my Spotify Premium account (after 10+ years) once my free Apple Music trial is over.
