Support for Apple’s new MPMediaItemAnimatedArtwork API in Spotify iOS App

Hello Spotify Team,

With iOS 26, Apple introduced the new MPMediaItemAnimatedArtwork API, which allows music apps to display animated album artwork on the iOS lock screen during playback.

Apple Music is already taking advantage of this feature, and the API is available for third-party apps as well.

--> My question: Is Spotify planning to implement support for this API, so that Spotify listeners on iOS can also enjoy animated album art on the lock screen?

This would greatly enhance the playback experience, and many users are asking for feature parity with Apple Music.
