Unannounced endpoint request limit change

Unannounced endpoint request limit change

Hi! I have a project that periodically runs some api requests. Recently, I've started getting unexpected 400 responses involving the limit for the artists/{id}/albums endpoint. I did some research and noticed that the /search endpoint had its limit per request dropped from 50 to 10, but there was nothing I could find stating the limit for other endpoints was also affected. Did I miss something? Am I just goofing? I'd love any sort of clarification!

Looks like the change must have been made back in February, but it was not explicitly mentioned in the change log or migration guide.

January 19 (shows the original limits): https://web.archive.org/web/20260119160131/developer.spotify.com/documentation/web-api/reference/get...

February 13 (current version with the current limits): https://web.archive.org/web/20260213080405/developer.spotify.com/documentation/web-api/reference/get...

That's obnoxious at best and incredibly scummy when it isn't mentioned. Not to mention it seems like overall rate limits were lowered significantly. I might genuinely migrate to another music api platform, the current state of spotify's api isn't worth it, even if it was still free. Borderline unusable for anything meaningful.
