hls stream from spotify

Is there a way to get an HLS stream URL for a music file in spotify ? I'd like to take this URL and paste it into VLC's Media/Open Network Stream to actually stream the file into an non-spotify player like VLC.

Hi @gulfoslides! Sorry, this isn't something that we offer through the Spotify API. The Web Playback SDK can be used to stream audio in the browser but it doesn't include a URL that you would be able to use in that way.
