3 months free didnt work

3 months free didnt work

An advert for 3 free months came up on my free account.

Followed the links, paid by paypal, and now it's already took out 9.99 and states that my next payment is for 9.99 this day next month.

Something clearly has gone wrong here and theres no one to email or chat with, so if anyone on here knows how to solve this please, let me know.

Cheers.

Hello and welcome to the Spotify Community!

Let's try to find out what's the problem!

  • Have you had a Premium subscription before?
  • Have you enjoyed a Premium offer before?
  • Have you used the payment method you used before, in this or another account?

Hi there....
No idea on previous subscriptions. I have used paypal to pay for it and the only other thing I use paypal with is ebay so I definitely havent used it before for spotify.Regardless of the above... the advert stated 3 months free so I expect to get it. Cheers

The 3 months offer is only available to new users who were never subscribed before. You can see in your receipts page if you used another Premium offer before.

I do not remember this at any point.I did not see any disclaimer to that affectI would NOT have clicked through the links without a 3 month free period first, but as I was under the impression that I would receive 3 months free (due to the advert that was on my screen, stipulated that I would), I did. This resulted in no months free, an immediate sign up to pay (I was under the impression that you would charge me after my initial free 3 moths of use) and the money has left my account.. I would have NOT agreed for Spotify to take my money if the above conditions were not the case as per advert. This clearly is now NOT the case as stipulated by the advert.Due to this you have charged me under false pretenses, and therefore have unlawfully taken money from me.
It is not my issue if you send a 'pop up' advert to my personal device if you know that It does not apply.
The advert stated '3 months free', that's what I expect to get. if I do not get the service as advertised, out of courtesy and decency, and the fact that theft is a statutory offence, I want my money back.

Hey there @xt3n2_bgy-ifp,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community!

As @OviiiOne mentions, in order to be eligible for the 3 months of Premium for free offer, you mustn't have had Premium or another trial offer on your account before, or used the same payment card on another account for Premium.

However, if you've checked here and can confirm you hadn't had Premium before, we'd recommend taking a look at this support page for our refund policy. You'll also find more info there on reaching out to a member of our support teams so they can take a look behind the scenes for you.

Let us know how you get on! We'll be right here if you need more help.

Have a lovely day 🙂

I got this problem as well. I've been using the free version for years and decided finally get the premium. Spotify advertised for 3 months free premium. I have checked my receipts page and there is no mentions or payments of premium from before. Now there is one payment for 9.99€ as i took the premium, while it supposed to be free. Next payment is due next month.
